Denotified nomadic tribes one day dharna for their rights, reservations for survival and dignity has been successful, with representatives from Andhrapradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Haryana, Uttara Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajashtan, Delhi, etc..
The Dharna, also received a good news with Shri. Oscar Fernandes, Member of Parliament (Rajyasabha), that he will definitely negotiate with the leadership of UPA government for positive conclusions. Shri. Oscar Fernandes called on the union government to accept the report of the "National Commission for Denotified Nomadic Seminomadic Tribes", and he said "the commission has done an excellent, objective and comprehensive job." He expressed his strong support for the cause of the DNTs rights and reservations and their struggle for a just and effective DNTs Bill immediately.
Shri. Haribhau Rathod, Ex Member of Parliament (Loksabha) and Ex Member of National Commission for DNTs specifically reiterated four of the key recommendations of the "National Commission for Denotified Nomadic Semi-nomadic Tribes" and strongly demanded that union government should immediately take necessary action to implement the commissions' recommendations. He demanded that, government should give special reservations to DNTs as like SCs/STs, and demanded to appoint a permanent commission on DNTs. He said that delay in implementation of Commissions' recommendations is very injustice.
Shri. Balakrishna Renake, Ex Chairman, National Commission for Denotified Nomadic & Seminomadic Tribes, demanded the union government, to provide DNTs, an opportunity to survive with dignity. He expressed his gratitude towards union government, that the government at least appointed a working group in "National Advisory Council" to study the denotified nomadic tribes.
Deekonda NarsingaRao, AP DNT leader and activist on Human Rights, said that if this commission's recommendations implemented more than the fourty communities of Andhrapradesh, like Medari, Gangireddula, Budabudakala, Oddari, Vamsharaj, Katikapala, Veerabhadriya, Balasantu, Bahurupi, Dommara, Dasari, etc will be benefitted a lot like SCs and STs. Participants and speakers from Andhra Pradesh includes, Deekonda Suresh (Medari), State DNT leader and DNT activist, Hyderabad, K. Prakash Vamsharaj, Warangal, B. Mallikarjun (Bestha), Warangal, M. Parashu Ramulu (Kuruma), Warangal, K. Sheshu Prasad (Pusala), Karimnagar, M. Murali Mohan, Peddapalli, Karimnagar and ten more activists from Andhra Pradesh participated and spoke on DNT problems.
